The boys will be back in town ….. sooner than you think! The penguins which are due to arrive here at Blackpool Zoo in June could well arrive early. As all paperwork is now complete (in triplicate), the birds can be transported and may even be here in early May. However, as their enclosure is not yet complete, and they have to be quarantined, you won’t be able to see them for a little while. Keep watching the website and we’ll let you know as soon as they’re out on view.

the new male ‘Bukavu’ who arrived from Europe early in December, has been mating with all three females. So there could hopefully be some pregnancies there soon

Five of Blackpool Zoo’s keepers are heading for London tomorrow as guests of “This Morning”, the daily magazine programme featuring Philip Schofield and Fern Britton. They’ve been invited to have a full makeover including hair, make-up and clothes.
Other staff at the Zoo are looking foward to seeing the girls in their finery. If you’re free and near a television, do tune in to ITV on Wednesday morning (25th March) at 10.30 am – 12.30 pm and watch their well-deserved transformation.
